How Data Recovery Made Easier With Recovery Software

Working on computer means easy, fast and safe storage of data. It is advised to backup the data regularly. This keeps you well prepared for any loss of data. However, there are many ways by which the data can be lost. In many cases the backup taken is not complete and in case the storage media is damaged you lose your precious data and need data recovery software to get them back.

Some of the common reasons of data loss are -

  • Intentional or unintentional deletion of data

  • Formatting of the storage media

  • Physical or logical damage to the storage media(these are the two categories of data loss)

No matter what be the cause, data loss is always terrible. You cannot do away with your invaluable data and data recovery in such a case becomes very important. Often the data are recovered from storage media, such as hard drives, CDs and DVDs. Unfortunately if you lose data, you try various methods to recover it. Many of these processes can be learned from the Internet.

Some methods that you may try recovering the data are-

  1. Look in the Recycle Bin. If your file is there, right click on it and select ‘Restore’ to get the file back to the previous location.
  2. You may use the ‘System Restore’ option depending up on the date when you lost the data.
  3. You may also use theEmergency Boot Disk’ to recover the data once the Windows

starts.

In cases where there has been logical damage to the hard disk, such as, file system corruption, a good portion of the original data can be recovered using specialized data recovery tools. This type of recovery can be performed by end-users as it requires no special training.

Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset can verify and repair any possible OS level corruption or damage. It also lets you fix a corrupt, unbootable Windows XP or Windows Vista installation. However, serious cases still require expert’s consultation and precisely designed data recovery software. These software are specifically designed to help your recovery purpose. They recover up to 100% of the lost data. The good thing is that they are very user friendly and economical. Available everywhere, they are efficient enough to recover data and files of any format.

Data loss: Causes and Recovery steps

With our increased dependence on computer, we are moving faster in our day-to-day personal as well as professional life. Every boon comes with its limitation. So also, the faster and accurate computer are also vulnerable to the danger of data loss. Lost data is a financial disaster both for individuals and organization. When data is the sole of all operations, loss of valuable data can cause a sudden halt of all the vital operations. Loss of vital data from the computer can make the person idle resulting in zero productivity. Further, a survey reports that inability of an individual to access key data would impact three other coworker’s productivity by 25%.

Few major reasons resulting in data loss include hard drive failure, firmware corruption, logical error, accidental deletion and overwriting, OS failure, computer viruses and natural disasters. Hard drive failure may be caused due to mechanical failure or electronic failure. In case of mechanical failure, physical components of the device begin to wear or malfunction. In case of electronic failure, Printed Circuit Board(PCB) begins to produce error. When firm corruption occurs, system does not detect the hard drive. In case of logical error, there is a missing of files, folders and drive partitions. Data can also be lost when there is accidental deletion, overwriting of existing data or emptying of the recycle bin. There can be a major data loss when the operating system, which is the system software that manages the hard ware and manages its communication with software fails to function.

Data loss results either in permanent loss of data (as in case of hardware damage) or in the case where data is recoverable. Today, with the introduction of number of back-up and recovery solutions, the problem of irretrievable data is slowly taking the back seat. With the help of in-house solutions, the minor data loss can be easily fetched. When the severity of the loss is major, a third party recovery tool is worth to be used to recover the lost data.

There are many third party recovery solution providers who shoulder the data recovery solutions very effectively. One among them is Stellar information Systems which provides efficient data recovery solutions through its innovative products. Stellar offers various data recovery software for this purpose. With a good track record, Stellar is consistently working towards offering efficient software at reasonable price.

Data Recovery Software For Your Operating System

Our computer systems have always been prone to data loss owing to some or the other reasons. Even the most powerful of operating systems installed on the sturdiest hard drive can fail. In fact, at times, merely upgrading the operating system can stop the operating system from loading. And in the absence of a backup, needless to say, you face the data loss leading to a crisis situation. Not just that, many a times, people find that the upgrade has been done properly, yet the files are inaccessible, and at times lost. Such a situation happens across all platforms. To tackle it though, the common method is file data recovery.

But are these the only situations that can lead to data loss? No, there are many others. For example, correcting IRQ memory channels, overheating, overclocking, replacement/upgrading, updating drivers of a computer can lead to data loss. Attack by viruses or malware is another problem that can cause irrevocable data loss situations. At other times, a system for no reason or warning, stops responding, or freezes. At times the operating system crashes too. At times some software changes, or illegal operations can also cause similar situations to arise. System bugs, incompatible plug-ins or add-ons are other steps that make a system unresponsive.

Though there are individual ways to handle each one of the above mentioned situations, the most powerful tool in the hands of a user is a clean and updated backup. If you have one, the situation is under control. But in case it isn’t, then you will need to opt for data recovery using third-party software that can be easily downloaded from the Internet. You might wonder, if your situation can be handled by a software! But almost all logical data loss situations can be handled using the data recovery software. These are powerful recovery software that feature an interactive user-friendly interface along with a powerful context-sensitive help manual. Designed to work on appropriate operating system platforms, the user needs to be careful while choosing one.

Stellar Information System Ltd., has innumerable data recovery tools that can quickly recover lost, formatted or deleted data. With read-only nature, these software have free trial versions that give the user a preview of the recoverable files along with an experience of the interface. With powerful recovery features including advanced recovery, imaging and disk cloning, the tool also has a resume recovery option that allows recovery in stages.

How to Resolve the Operating System Loading Error in an NTFS Partition

Published by admin under Data Recovery

NTFS file system is one of the most used and trusted file system for installation of the Windows operating system. Being a journaling file system, it uses NTFS Log ($Logfile) to maintain a record of the metadata changes to the volume. Though superior to FAT file system in many ways, it is not preferred by many. But despite all the improvements over its predecessor, it has its own flaws. One of the major problems is, it may not load and prevent the operating system to be mounted. Such a situation may lead to file inaccessibility, thus calling for extensive NTFS file recovery steps.

Suppose that one fine day, while trying to boot your NTFS formatted Windows XP system, you get an error message, instead of the “Starting Windows” Splash Screen:

‘Error loading operating system’

After getting this error message, you find all the data stored in your NTFS formatted computer system inaccessible. Generally such problems are due to damage to the partition, problems in BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) or CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) of the system. Let us try to fix one at a time, to chalk it out, and thus resolve the problem.

  • You should start with updating your BIOS. This will help rid you of the problem.
  • If it doesn’t, check the settings of CMOS, and make sure that it detects the drive. Changes the ‘Access Mode’ of the hard drive to Large or LBA (Logical Block Addressing). This should address the problem and get you going.
  • But if it doesn’t, then it is your NTFS partition that has become inaccessible, or is damaged. In such a situation, you will need to reformat the partition.

Obviously, this will delete all the data. But, with an updated backup with you for NTFS data recovery, you’ll have nothing to worry. But even if you do not have a backup, by simply installing a NTFS file recovery tool, you will be able to recover all your inaccessible data. But be careful with the software you choose. The best way is to download the trial version of it, to be able to analyze its features and recovery capabilities.

Stellar Phoenix NTFS Data Recovery software is a reliable tool for recovery of all deleted, inaccessible or lost data from any NTFS formatted partition. Compatible with Windows 7, Vista, 2003, XP and 2000, this NTFS data recovery tool extends various features including hard drive cloning, hard drive imaging, file filter, file mask and save scan. With support for 185 different file formats, this tool can recover data from any kind of NTFS formatted storage media.

During the Windows XP startup, you must have encountered some errors messages that do not allow you to log into the operating system. Such errors, often, prove very costly for the system as you may have to take some drastic steps to resolve the problem. These problems can evolve due to any number of reasons. Some of the more prominent ones could be virus infections, abrupt or improper system shutdowns, faulty hardware components, bugs in operating system, etc. You should try to find out the exact reason to rectify the problem. If nothing works out, then you should use a third-party data recovery software to perform safe data recovery.

For instance, consider a situation where you start your Windows XP system. But it fails to start, and an error message is displayed:

“The file C:\windows\system32\c_1252.nls is missing or corrupt”

Cause:

Such behavior at startup could have happened as the file mentioned in the error message, c_1252.nls, is missing or damaged.

Resolution:

To resolve such startup errors, you should perform the following methods, preferably in the order in which they are given:

Check the hard disk for errors: It may be possible that the hard disk contains some errors, which is causing the problem. To resolve them, you should run Chkdsk tool to check and repair the errors.
Replace missing files: If the mentioned file(s) is/are missing, then you should replace the missing files in the Recovery Console by using Windows XP CD-ROM.

Replace missing files without console: If you are unable to open the Recovery Console, then you should use the emergency CD for Windows 98 to replace the missing files. However, you should keep in mind that this method is applicable only on Windows XP systems with FAT32 file system.

Perform In-Place upgrade: If none of the aforementioned methods succeed, then you should perform an in-place upgrade of Windows XP using the Setup CD. This should resolve the issue.

Having said that, at times these methods are unable to resolve the problem. Also, you may also need to recover the trapped data. For such situations, you should use a third-party data recovery software. Using such data recovery tools makes the data recovery safe and secure by using fast and sophisticated scanning algorithms.

One such software that performs safe data recovery is Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery utility. Recovering deleted files using a file recovery software

Published by admin under Data Recovery

I am pretty sure that you have lost your valuable computer data due to yet another folly of yours. Of course, that is precisely why you are here. But there is no need to worry as you are not alone in this regard. There are thousands of other users as well, including me, who may have lost computer data due to some reason or the other. Yes, the reason for each individual may be different as discussed in the subsequent section. But these files can well be recovered using a file recovery software.

There could be various reasons by which you can lose your valuable file such as:
• Permanently removing items of Recycle Bin using Empty Recycle Bin option.
• Using the Disk Cleanup feature to empty the Recycle Bin.
• Permanently deleting files using the ‘Shift+Delete’ keys.
• Deleting files from Command Prompt.
• Abrupt or improper system shutdown.
• Files getting deleted due to corrupt operating system.
• Files deleted because of virus or malicious programs.
• Other miscellaneous reasons such as power outages, human errors, etc.

How a permanently deleted file can be recovered:

When a file is deleted from the system, everybody perceives it as nonrecoverable, which is true but only partially. Because when it is deleted, only its pointer that targets to the file database is removed whereas the file remains there physically. Also, when the file is deleted the operating system is informed that the space utilized by the deleted file is now available for new files. Hence, it can be assumed that the file remains there as long as there is another written at the same location. This is to suggest that if you want to recover the file, you should ensure not to create a new file because it may get save at the same location.
However, to recover the deleted file you should use a third-party file recovery software. Such file recovery tools are read-only in nature that recover the deleted files without overwriting the contents on the hard disk.

Stellar Phoenix File Recovery Plus is a file recovery software that recovers lost, deleted, or formatted data from both FAT and NTFS file systems. In all, this file recovery software supports file recovery from FAT 16, FAT 32, and NTFS & NTFS5 file systems. It is able to recover more than 200 file types from various storage media such as hard drives, external hard disks, iPods, etc. In addition, this file recovery utility is capable of recovering deleted emails from Outlook Express and MS Outlook. It is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, Server 2003, XP, and 2000.

Windows 7 Does Not Boot Past Loading Screen

Published by admin under Data Recovery

Whenever a user starts his/her Windows 7 based system, the boot loader starts loading all the required system and boot drivers. After these drivers are loaded, the system thread (kernel) initiates the SMSS.EXE (System Manager Subsystem) that is responsible for loading the user profile. Corruption or damage in either of the components – required for booting process – can result in unbootability of your Windows based system, which renders to inaccessibility of all the data saved in the hard drive. In most of these situations, the user encounters an error message that explains the real cause for stopping the boot process. To overcome such situations, an ideal approach is to reinstall Windows 7 and restore the data from an updated backup. However, if in case of backup file corruption or unavailability, the user will need to recover the data from a powerful third-party

data recovery software.

To deeply analyze the above scenario, consider a real-time scenario where you are working on your Windows 7 system. You install some audio and video files from the Internet and the next time you boot your system, it does not boot completely. The system boots till the loading screen and then automatically restarts. After the system restarts, the user encounters a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). Since, the system becomes unbootable post BSOD, the data saved in the hard drive also becomes inaccessible.

Note: The same error message appears every time even if you try to boot your system in safe mode, repair mode, or boot from the installation disc.

Cause:

The above error message (BSOD) appears when the boot loader get corrupted due to a fatal virus attack.

Resolution:

To get past the above BSOD, you will need to follow the below steps:

  1. Reinstall Windows 7 operating system.

  2. Restore all the files and folders from a complete and valid backup.

  3. However, if in case of inaccessibility of a valid backup, you will need to use a safe data recovery utility that can perform comprehensive formatted data recovery. These tools are built with intensive recovery techniques that makes them perform recovery after any logical crash.

One of the most widely used data recovery Software is Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery. This software recovers and restores all formatted data at user-specified location. Compatible with NTFS, NTFS5, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, and VFAT file systems, the recovery application supports almost all Windows operating systems, including 7, Vista, XP, 2003, and 2000.
